Leather testing

A leather lot is worth what its papers claim only when measurement confirms it. For supplier qualification, automotive applications or customer specifications, leather properties need objective proof.

Comprehensive testing of leathers

We conduct comprehensive leather industry tests from crust to finished products. Through chemical and physical testing, we evaluate the material's quality properties and the chemical characteristics that affect its safety. By performing these tests, we ensure compliance with regulations and prescribed norms, and suitability for the intended use.

Typical test areas

  • tensile and tear strength, elongation;
  • colour fastness to rubbing (dry, wet, perspiration);
  • abrasion and flexing endurance — e.g. durability of automotive leathers;
  • chemical characteristics: chromium(VI), pH, fat content, contaminants;
  • comparative testing against a reference lot in supplier disputes.

Who we work for

Tanneries and leather processors, footwear and leather-goods manufacturers, automotive suppliers and importers — anyone who must demonstrate or verify leather quality in an accountable way.
