Motorcycle clothing
Motorcycle garments (Class AAA, AA, A, B and C): abrasion, tear and seam-strength requirements plus impact-protector placement. We support development and lot verification with material- and component-level testing.

EN 17092-1…6:2020 — successor of EN 13595 (1–4)The 2020 series replaced the narrow, professional EN 13595 with a five-class consumer framework — motorcycle clothing is Category II PPE under Regulation (EU) 2016/425.
At the review date the requirement parts EN 17092-2…6:2020 are harmonised (cited 5 March 2021, Decision (EU) 2021/395); Part 1 (test methods) is not listed. The EU Official Journal defines the status at any given time.
What does the standard require?
- Impact-abrasion on the AART machine: the specimen slides on real concrete to standstill — no hole of 5 mm or more may open; test speed rises by class and garment zone
- Seam and closure strength, tear strength; dimensional stability within ± 5 % after cleaning
- Impact protectors separately per EN 1621-1/-2: elbow, shoulder, knee AND hip protectors mandatory in Classes AAA and AA
- Restraint tests: sleeve restraint 50 N / 30 s; jacket-to-trouser engagement 100 N / 60 s for two-piece suits
- Innocuousness and general requirements via EN ISO 13688
Classes and levels: Five classes, one per part: AAA (highest protection) · AA · A (urban/light) · B (Class-A abrasion without impact protectors) · C (protector-holder garments only, no abrasion claim).
