EN ISO 20347

Occupational footwear

Occupational footwear without a protective toecap: slip resistance, comfort and durability requirements for workplaces without impact or compression risk to the toes.

Current edition:

EN ISO 20347:2022 + A1:2024 — successor of EN ISO 20347:2012

The same 2022 generation change as its sibling standards; as occupational footwear, its defining difference is that no protective toecap is required.

At the review date EN ISO 20347:2022+A1:2024 is the harmonised edition (cited 8 October 2024, Decision (EU) 2024/2599); the 2012 edition lost its presumption of conformity on 8 April 2026. The EU Official Journal defines the status at any given time.

What does the standard require?

Classes and levels: OB → O1 → O2 → O3/O3L/O3S → O4/O5 (all-polymeric) → O6/O7 (waterproof) — the S-ladder with the letter O, without a toecap.
