Anti-vibration gloves
Gloves protecting against hand-arm vibration: measurement of vibration transmissibility and damping requirements.

EN ISO 10819:2013 + A1:2019 + A2:2022 — successor of EN ISO 10819:1996A1:2019 added the EU-mandatory Annex B (EN 388 mechanical minima + information duties); A2 introduced a probe test checking gaps between palm and finger padding.
At the review date EN ISO 10819:2013 with A1:2019 and A2:2022 is the harmonised version (cited 11 December 2023, Decision (EU) 2023/2752); earlier versions have lost presumption. The EU Official Journal defines the status at any given time.
What does the standard require?
- Vibration transmissibility measured at the palm, 25–1,250 Hz, on a shaker with five test subjects
- To claim anti-vibration performance: TRM ≤ 0.9 in the medium band (25–200 Hz) and TRH ≤ 0.6 in the high band (200–1,250 Hz)
- The damping material must cover the whole palm AND all fingers; palm thickness at most 8 mm
- User information must state: glove attenuation cannot be used to calculate daily vibration exposure (ISO 5349-1)
Classes and levels: No grades — a binary qualification: the glove either is anti-vibration or is not.
