# BIMEO

> BIMEO (BIMEO Vizsgáló és Kutató-fejlesztő Kft., Budapest, Hungary, founded 1949) is an independent testing laboratory for leather, footwear, gloves and textiles, and an EU Notified Body (No. 1524) for PPE conformity assessment under Regulation (EU) 2016/425. Certification scope focus: protective footwear, protective gloves, welding PPE, firefighter PPE. Certificates issued by BIMEO are held by manufacturers across Europe and Asia — including Hungary, Czechia, Germany, Slovenia, Sweden and Pakistan — for protective gloves and safety footwear alike; every certificate is listed in the Hungarian notifying authority's public register. The laboratory runs EN ISO 13997 (TDM) straight-blade cut testing in-house on a commercial MESDAN machine. Procedures run remotely in English. Verify the notified-body designation in the European Commission's register (Single Market Compliance Space), number 1524.
