Testing and Expertise

The most important activity of BIMEO Ltd. is made up of the testing process of different materials, semi-finished and end products from the leather, shoe and leather processing industries performed by the Testing Laboratory of BIMEO Ltd, as well as the related expertise duties.

The area controlled by regulations:

• EC type-testing of personal protective equipment according to section 8. of the 18/2008. (XII. 3.) SZMM decree;
• testing of personal protective equipment and materials used for manufacturing PPE - as a designated and registrated organisation.

Other areas of activity, not controlled by regulations:

• quality, aptitude and conformity tests for new and other materials and products, expertise,

• testing regarding the BIMEO-KERMI certifying brand "VIZSGÁLT MINŐSÉG" (Tested Quality),

• judgement of consumer complaints regarding different professional products,
• expertise in disputed questions and lawsuits,
• testing and consulting regarding product development and design,
• application services, problem solving,
• quality and technical-aesthetical level assessment for manufactured goods,
• exploring the reasons for different product and manufacturing defects, targeted testing.

For testing activities the company has an accredited, notified and registered testing laboratory, which meets the requirements specified in the MSZ EN ISO/IEC 17025:2001 standard.

The Testing Laboratory of BIMEO Ltd. is accredited for the following areas:

• Testing the physical-mechanical, chemical and hygienic properties of raw materials, accessories and other materials (leathers, soles, counters and toe puffs, glues, finishing agents, etc.) partly finished and finished products, used in the leather and leather processing industries. (Accreditation number: NAT-1-1185)

The Testing Laboratory of BIMEO Ltd. is designated and registrated (notified) for the following areas:

• Testing the electrostatic properties of protective footwear for work under voltage, and of protective gloves, clothing and footwear, as well as conformity testing according to the 18/2008. (XII. 3.) SZMM decree of PPE (protective clothing, gloves and footwear) which need mechanical, thermal, chemical and hygienic conformity appraisal. (Designation number: 1/2007)

Our goal is to have the full range of tests demanded by the target industry on the disposition of our consigners and interested parties.  There are more and more kinds of tests to be performed for the industry each day; we try to adopt the new tests and quality assessment methods as quick as possible.

The fees for tests related to the BIMEO-KERMI certifying brand "VIZSGÁLT MINŐSÉG" (Tested Quality) are fixed in common with KERMI and are included in a separate price-list. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further details.

On 1^st July, 2003 the two year warranty rule was put into force. This rule yields considerable changes especially for footwear strongly affected by consumer complaints. BIMEO, as an accredited laboratory offers a large scale of services for resolving questions regarding the warranty issues.
