Professional Standardisation
The changes in the economical structure commenced in 1990 caused many problems in the field of standardisation as well. The status of the standards and their role in the economic management have fundamentally changed. In the years after the new legal regulations regarding standards came into force we had to adapt the standards of the European Union in quick time. We had to withdraw all the national and sector-specific standards which were out-of-date or only right in an other structure. The rate of introducing the new standards was not concordant with the rate of withdrawing the old ones. That's why we had to introduce – provisionally – professional standards in the withdrawn subjects, but still needed in the economy. For this purpose the organisation named BCB was founded under the coordination and professional guidance of BIMEO.
At the assignment of the BCB organisation (constituted by BCE - the Hungarian Association for Leather and Shoe Industry, the Association of the Hungarian Shoe Traders, and BIMEO) BIMEO is responsible for the professional standards base, which contains the non-national standards of the industry, some former (so-called) sector-specific standards, and the professional standards prepared since the introduction of the new standards legislation. The BIMEO – standards base – keeps a record of the standards in force, stores them and when required by the profession makes their revision and brings them up-to-date, or puts forward a proposal for creating new standards. As far as possible BIMEO pays attention to the standardisation activities performed abroad, and informs the national professionals about the developments.
The professional standards are marked: BCBSZ-XXX.
The BCBSZ standards can be obtained from BIMEO
