Activities and the organizational structure of BIMEO

BIMEO Ltd., as the testing, research and service institute of the sector, performs a wide range of activities with a relative small number of employees.

1.1. Activities controlled by regulations:

–       laboratory accredited by the National Accreditation Body (NAT), according to the MSZ EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard, in the listed areas, with registration number NAT 1-1185 for EC type testing of PPE, and designated/registered by the president of OMMF (National Inspectorate of Work Safety and Labour), according to the 17/2008. (XII.3.) SZMM decree, in the listed areas, with registration number 1524, for testing PPE,

§         „testing the organoleptic, physical-mechanical, chemical and hygienic properties of raw materials, accessories and other materials (eg. leathers, soles, counters and toe puffs, glues, finishing agents, etc.) used in the leather and leather processing industries;

§         testing the physical-mechanical, thermal, chemical and hygienic properties of PPE (footwear, gloves, clothing).” (Testing Laboratory of BIMEO Ltd.)

–        body designated/registered by the president of OMMF, according to the MSZ EN 45011:1999 standard and the 17/2008. (XII.3.) SZMM decree for conformity certification of PPE (emission of EK type certification) (Certifying Body of BIMEO Ltd.),

–       body qualified by the NAT according to the MSZ EN 45004:1999 standard and designated/registered by the president of OMMF, according to the 17/2008. (XII.3.) SZMM decree for  controlling PPE (Inspection Body of BIMEO Ltd.).

 1.2. Main areas of activity to which legal regulations does not apply:

–        laboratory accredited by NAT, according to the MSZ EN ISO/IEC 17025:2001 standard, for the areas listed, with registration number NAT 1-1185  for quality, suitability and conformity testing of new and other materials and products, emission of expertises (Testing Laboratory of BIMEO Ltd.),

–        consulting, expertise,

–        judging consumer complaints,

–      testing and consulting regarding product development and design, application services, problem solving, quality (technical-aesthetical) level assessment for manufactured goods, exploring the reasons for different product and manufacturing defects, targeted testing, comparison tests of products and other testing activities,

–       organisation of quality controlling, quality consulting (elaboration, implementation and preparing for certification of company quality management systems according to the MSZ EN ISO 9001:2001 standard, of environmental management systems according to the MSZ EN ISO 14001:1997 standard, of MEBIR systems (labour, health and accident management) according to the MSZ 28001:2003 standard, as well as of HACCP management systems),

–        research and development,

–       informational services (company database, legal and policy related information for quality and environmental fields, testing and valuation methods, etc.),

–   other services (eg. training, continuing education, standardization, representation of the sector, technical paper).

The research and development activities of BIMEO Ltd. is aimed at solving problems arising  form the different service activities (testing-expertise, application services, problem solving). In these cases the informational possibilities available can  be very well used. We also take part in joint research projects running within the scope of the 6^th EU framework programme.

BIMEO has 8 permanent employees and 4-6 activity oriented contributors on a part time basis. Though having different organizational departments, the company carries out its jobs in teamwork.
